HRS kicks off hotel booking campaign for the EURO 2008 by launching an interactive microsite for the finals of the European Championships.
Since 3 December 2007, all football fans have been able to book hotel rooms in the competition's host cities through the HRS - HOTEL RESERVATION SERVICE Web site. HRS has set up a special area, known as a microsite, for the EURO 2008 competition. Fans who visit the Web pages at www.hrs.de/euro2008 or www.hrs.com/euro2008can not only book hotel accommodation in the eight host cities - Basel, Berne, Geneva, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Salzburg, Vienna and Zurich - but also find out lots of useful information about the cities themselves and the European Championship stadiums.

Lufthansa and HRS agree to collaborate
Germany's largest airline and Europe's leading hotel reservation site have begun working together. Since 1 September, travellers have been able to not only book their flights on Lufthansa's Web site, but also easily reserve their hotel accommodation through HRS. Lufthansa passengers therefore now have direct online access to more than 225,000 hotels worldwide and can benefit from the latest price and service innovations on HRS. The deal means that two absolute market leaders are now working together to offer travellers an outstanding booking service. Their services complement each other perfectly.

HRS opens new office in Warsaw
HRS has continued its successful foreign expansion by opening an office in Warsaw. On 1 August 2007, an HRS team began operating as a local contact for hotels, private and corporate customers on the booming Polish hotel market from its address in the heart of the Polish capital. The HRS team in Warsaw is made up of experienced hotel and tourism professionals who have already helped drive forward the up-and-coming Polish hotel market in responsible positions over the past few years.

Excellent! HRS named best hotel portal in major Computer Bild test
HRS has come top of a major comparative survey of online hotel booking sites carried out by experts at Computer Bild magazine (15/2007 issue). HRS particularly impressed the specialist jury with its cheap prices and the large selection of immediately bookable hotels. In the selected cities tested by Computer Bild, HRS offered twice as many 3-star hotels on average than any other provider.

ECO Award 2007
In 2007, HRS received yet another ECO Award. The jury named HRS the best German site in the 'Web Portal for Business Customers' category. The annual ECO Awards, known in the sector as the "Internet Oscars", are sponsored by the Electronic Commerce Forum, the association representing the German Internet economy. The award is a tremendous success for HRS.

As partners of trade fair organiser Messe Berlin, budding tourism managers from Cologne Business School presented their favourite stands at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) with much sought-after Best Exhibitor Awards.
Given the wealth of hotels represented and the often magnificent stands of hotel chains, HRS is extremely pleased to have been honoured with 9th place in the top ten of the 'Hotel Industry' category.

HRS cooperates with the Bundeswehr
HRS is the new travel management partner of Germany's armed forces, the Bundeswehr. Armed force personnel and administrators book 800,000 nights' accommodation a year for their business trips. From now on, all of these will be made through HRS.

HRS gets direct link to InterContinental and Hilton Hotels
HRS now has a direct interface to the central reservation (CRS) systems of the InterContinental Hotels Group and Hilton Hotels, two of the world's largest hotel groups. CRS systems enable centralised administration of reservations for the respective hotel chain.
This direct link automatically gives HRS booking customers complete access to the entire hotel portfolio of the connected hotel chains. InterContinental, for example, has more than 530,000 rooms overall, while Hilton has in excess of 480,000.

HRS theme hotels go online
The redesigned HRS has a new 'Theme Hotels' menu on its homepage. Users who are looking for something special can therefore now choose their individual theme hotel from one of many different categories. The categories include château & castle hotels, spa, design, beach and conference hotels, and the list is constantly being expanded.

Half a million hotel evaluations posted on HRS
Barely six months after it was set up, the HRS hotel evaluation function is sweeping the classic consumer portals aside. HRS customers have already posted half a million evaluations on the Web site of Europe's leading portal about the hotels listed there. And the number is growing constantly.

HRS celebrates its 35th anniversary
HRS has grown from a small office with two staff and two telephone lines into Europe's most important hotel booking portal. On its 35th anniversary, HRS has a workforce of 270, foreign offices in four countries and a database of more than 225,000 hotels at its disposal.
More facts and figures: the Web sites HRS.de and HRS.com register 90 million hits a month, while 12,000 companies book their business trips through HRS.

Presentation at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin
HRS introduces the latest version of its Meetings Online application. Ten to twenty rooms can now been booked together with an appropriate meeting room without any further action, i.e. directly and online. Free participant management ensures all other aspects of the booked event are also easy to organise.
