"Most Popular Travel Web Site 2006"
HRS picked up no fewer than two prizes in the Web Site of the Year 2006 awards, the most prestigious awards chosen by Internet users in Germany. HRS won the "Best Travel Web Site" category for its content, navigation and design, and was named "Most Popular Travel Web Site", receiving the most votes overall.

The British magazine Buying Business Travel presented HRS its award as "Best Hotel Booking Agent".

Contract on collaboration from 2007 onwards signed. KölnTourismus GmbH has decided that all hotel reservations for Cologne should now be made exclusively through the HRS system. That's a sensational development based on 34 years of arms-length contact. The head of KölnTourismus called the move "a milestone for tourism in Cologne".
Hotel evaluations by HRS guests
To make the task of booking hotels even easier, HRS has introduced hotel evaluations for its users. However, the hotels are not evaluated by the people who booked them, but the people who stay there.
Yet another decision-making tool for bookers: Shortlisted hotels can be placed side-by-side for better comparison of all characteristics, photos and hotel ratings. Bookings can be made directly from a map-based display of the shortlisted hotels.
The latest and largest study to date of the use of different online hotel portals has found that HRS brings hotels the most guests. This was the opinion voiced by 64.6 percent of German hoteliers polled by the CHD Expert Group for the Qualif Hotel 2006 survey. Asked which portal had most increased their guest numbers in the last 12 months, 55.3 percent of hotels replied: HRS
HRS received the Innovation Award in the business travel category for its free and comprehensive one-stop corporate solution; a unique combination of reservation system, company-specific elements for travel management and complete integration of the online tools for processing special event and group enquiries.
The award was presented on 5 September 2006 during the Business Travel Show in Dusseldorf.
Test winner among eight hotel portals
HRS was named the best service for private users in a test published in Urlaub Perfekt magazine: Thanks to its large range of offers, good search function and easy booking procedure, HRS was crowned "the first stop for hotel searches" (Urlaub Perfekt, 4/2006)
2 August 2006 - World Cup highlights
As part of its international advertising campaigns, HRS flew its hot air balloon over 12 World Cup venues every day. 165 HRS hostesses worked tirelessly distributing lanyards, "waving hands" in the colours of the various competing nations and helpful information for fans.
The press was also given access to a service providing daily information about room capacities. In all, HRS recorded an extra 300,000 visitors to its Web site during the World Cup.
HRS won the Business Britain Award 2006 as the 'Business Travel Solution of the Year 2006' (Business Britain, 29.06.2006)
ECO Award: Second place in the 'Best German-speaking Web portal' category. The awards is sponsored by the ECO Electronic Commerce Forum, the association representing the German Internet economy (eco 21.06.2006).

In a survey of online hotel exchanges conducted by Clever Reisen magazine, HRS was named the winner in all three individual test categories: Services, Booking and Price. It was therefore named "Best of Test" and declared the overall winner of the survey, with the grade "Very Good" (Clever Reisen 2/2006).

HRS came top of a major comparative survey of hotel portals carried out by experts at Computer Bild magazine. What's more, HRS was the only one of the eight Internet portals tested that was classed "Very good".
HRS beat off the competition through a combination of exemplary user-friendly applications, a wide variety of immediately available hotels, cheap prices, a simple booking procedure, and its clear and simple navigation (Computer Bild 3/2006).

Readers of Business Traveller magazine again voted HRS into first place in the 'Best Online Service for Business Travellers' and 'Best Online Service Provider' categories. HRS has now received the award six years in a row (Business Traveller 2/2006).
