Residence Michelangiolo welcomes its guests in a Liberty villa dating back to 1917 that has been totally and tastefully renovated while maintaining its original charm and elegance. The Residence - situated in one of the most exclusive and peaceful areas in Florence, along Viale Michelangelo, the avenue that runs from Piazza Ferrucci on the river bank to Piazzale Michelangelo - is within walking distance from the historical center of Florence and from monuments like Ponte Vecchio, the church of Santa Croce and the Uffizi Gallery. The villa is a listed building with beautiful and unique 19th century majolica decorated windows - a rarity even in a city like Florence - admired and studied by architecture students. The reception is only open untill 6pm. Please inform the hotel, if you arrive later. The eleven rooms of Residence Michelangelo, which is surrounded by a large and relaxing garden, are arranged on three floors served by a spacious elevator, are tastefully furnished and offer all the comforts and amenities needed to ensure an unforgettable stay.

Residence Michelangiolo is only at a 5-10 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio and the historical center. The Florence Dome, seat of the bishopric, was the third and last Cathedral to be finished in Florence in 1412 and given the name Santa Maria del Fiore or "Holy Mary of the Flower". n the second half of the 15th century, Filippo Brunelleschi was summoned by the banker Luca Bonaccorso Pitti to design Pitti Palace but Brunelleschis plan did not initiate until after his death some 10 years later. The oldest bridge in the city, originally built in wood on piers of stone by the Etruscans, Ponte Vecchio crosses the Arno River at its widest point, at the place where the antique ferryboat for river crossing was found. n 1869, when Florence was the capital city of Italy, Architect Giuseppe Poggi created and designed the route that leads up to the panoramic Piazzale Michelangelo.
